About St.Ann's

St. Ann's Matric. Hr. Sec. School, Panagudi is an educational institution run and managed by the Society of the Sisters of St. Ann, Luzern. St.Ann's Soceity was founded in Switzerland in the year 1909 by Rector. Fr. Wilhem Meyer. The first four missionaries set foot in Indian soil in the year 1927, to witness the merciful love of God through their services to the sick, poor and needy people. Later understanding the need for education ministry, schools were set up in different parts of India. St.Ann's Matric Higher Secondary School, Panagudi was established in 1992. Today the Society has spread to Tanzania, Kenya, Italy, Rome, East Timor & Indonesia. It is a proud aspect that, St.Ann's School, Panagudi has maintained a remarkable progress in establishing a rhythm in the academic as well as co- curricular activities of the young aspirants for the past 32 years. It is the aim and dream of the school that our students become useful and loyal to the society and the nation at large. Great are the works of God. May His presence continue to guide us as we march towards a new horizon.

St. Ann’s Matric Higher Secondary is an educational institution run and managed by the Sisters of St. Ann, Luzern. It was started in the year 1992 in response to the invitation extended by Rev.Fr. Panneer Selvam, the then parish priest of St. Joseph Church, Panagudi through the Bishop of Tuticorin, to cater to the educational needs of the people of this area. In 1993, the School moved into this campus and occupied the renovated tiled building. The school began the academic year 1999- 2000 in the new building with high hopes of scaling new heights and achieving fresh triumphs. The school is affiliated to Matriculation system of Tamil Nadu until class X and the Tamil Nadu State Board for classes XI and XII. The first batch of Class XII students appeared for the Board examination in March 2005.

It is a proud aspect that, Our School has maintained a remarkable progress in establishing a rhythm in the academic as well as co-curricular activities of the young aspirants. The school has strength of 1400+ from K. G to Higher Secondary and has achieved state ranks in 10 standard.

True to the vision of its founder Rev. Fr. Wilhelm Meyer “For the love of God serve the needy” the School commits itself to serve the economically weak, socially backward and needy students. Beyond teaching learning activities we strive to make the students spiritually oriented, intellectually well equipped, physically fit and emotionally balanced.
