Good wishes from St.Ann’s Panagudi.

‘To improve is to change; to be perfect is to change often’.  The measure of intelligence is the ability to change.  Change allows you to try new things, new ways to learn from your mistakes. If you accept that change is a part of life and embrace it, you are more likely to try new things.  The best we can do is to ride on this inevitable and never ending cycle of change and try coming out of it still standing, thriving and smiling.  The change is the reflection of progress and freshness in every act of life.

‘Towards a better tomorrow’ comes NEP 2020 into an effect during the academic year 2023-24 bringing with it a slew of changes. This policy aims to transform India’s education system by 2030.  In this NEP, there will be a 5+3+3+4 structure which comprises of 12 years of school and 3 years of pre-school replacing the old 10+2 structure.  The NEP has been introduced to bring monumental changes in the Indian Education scenario.

The new NEP is focused on increasing the Gross Enrolment Ratio in higher education space which is currently around 26%.  The classic definitions of primary and secondary education will undergo a drastic shift, as their objectives change.  The NEP proposes the removal of internal exams until the second grade, the introduction of semesters in grade 12 and the clearance of 8 board exams at the end of grade 10.

NEP 2020 is a pedestal to balance the growing domestic and international man power needs of the Indian economy.  This is a long awaited policy for change.  An education system to develop a person capable of rational thinking and action, to have compassion and empathy, patience and resilience, to have a scientific disposition and to build a modern India.  It aims to have a creative and imaginative society with vocal expressions and deep values.

Let us pray as teachers and parents to give our maximum dedication and desire to accept changes and plunge into this challenging situation to build our students/ children to success and encourage them to dream for themselves.
